The Geek Shall Inherit the Earth is a comic story in Simpsons Comics 36. After being thrown out of the university, Doug, Gary and Benjamin move to the Simpsons house and create a video game that makes them earn a lot of money. It was also featured in the book Simpsons Comics Unchained.
Plot
The dean of the university (dressed as God for a costume contest) throws Doug, Gary and Benjamin out because they had already graduated last year. They can't go to the Natural History Museum, nor the Kwik-E-Mart, nor the public library, but find a place at the Android's Dungeon. During a convention there, some nerds mistake Gerald as Urkel and chase him. They hide in Homer's car, but he forgets them and releases them one week later.
He allows them to live in their home. They place their computers at the basement and spent all say there, while Bart studies them to give Nelson information about nerds. They are creating a violent video game in which the playable character resembles Homer (he looks like him and can strangle enemies). Bart accidentally sends the video game all over the internet, but people loves it like that and it soon becomes a success. The nerds have hired Lionel Hutz to invest their money on some projects. Doug has an interview with Troy McClure and, after showing him his mansion, he tells him he wants to produce the best sci-fiction movie ever. At the power plant, Mr. Burns tells Gary he wants to invest his money on a computer. Professor Frink tells Benjamin he wants the money to make a comestible car. Meanwhile, at Moe's Tavern, a man who has tied Moe under the floor tries to convince Homer to sell him the nerds company. Troy's and Doug's movie is premièring at the Aztec Theater, but everyone hates it because it doesn't have sound and the spaceships are toos low (according to Doug, there is no sound at space and it is impossible to travel at the speed of light without opening a wormhole), so it becomes a failure. Professor Frink's and Benjamin's car now has a windshield that makes people look 500 times more good-looking. However, Frink's calculations don't seem to make sense, and that's because his sciense is based on faith and not physical laws, so the laboratory is destroyed. Mr. Burns' and Gary's computer is ruined too when Mr. Burns touches it and short-circuits it because of his radiation. At Moe's Tavern, Homer goes to the bathroom, and when he comes back, he discovers Barney sold the company to that man.
The nerds company is over, but at least they go back to the university and bought a triple-creamed Krusty cookie for Homer with what was left of the money.
