  • In the flashback and while descending the Devil's Deluge, "I Wanna Rock" by Twisted Sister plays.
  • Riot Rivers, and the documentary about it, are based on the theme park Action Park and the documentary about it, Class Action Park. Action Park was known for its poor safety records.
  • The Devil's Deluge resemblances Cannonball Loop, an infamous looping water slide that was only opened for brief periods in Action Park's existence.
