History

The Spellympics were held in Calgary, where Lisa won second place.[1]

When Milhoose first meets Lisa, after Bart introduces him, he says that Lisa is "hotter than a Calgary brushfire". He then proceeds to ask Bart if he can ask her out.[2]

A scene from the movie based on Bart's near death experience was filmed in downtown Calgary, though the scene is actually set in New York.[3]

Senator Ted Cruz of Texas was born in Calgary and spent his early childhood there which Donald Trump mocked him for in their debate.[4]
