• The title of the comic story is a reference to The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.
• The Fat-Cave is a parody of the Batcave from DC Comics. Among things seen in it are a giant penny and a statue of a T-Rex, both objects that are in the Batcave.
• Comic Book Guy tells the Barts to pass through the Stormtrooper on their way into Evil Bart's Castle, a reference to Star Wars.
• Principal Skinner is seen wearing Princess Leia's slave bikini from Star Wars. He is also made to sing "I have a big butt, and I just can't lie", a parody of "Baby Got Back" by Sir Mix-a-Lot.
