The Imaginarium of Milhouse Van Houten is a Simpsons Comics One-Shot Wonders story first printed in Bart Simpson's Pal, Milhouse #1.
Plot[edit]
Milhouse dreams that he is Spartahouse, and he and his fellow gladiators are setting out to kill the tyrant. Milhouse wakes from his dream when Edna asks what he is doing. Milhouse climbs on to his desk and holds up a ruler, and tells her that he was dreaming. Bart asks Milhouse to stop his crazy fantasy or he will not be his best friend. After school, Bart and Milhouse are pretending to explore a jungle, but Bart doesn't like the game. They discover a grizzly and Milhouse tells Bart that he will protect him from the big smelly brute. Milhouse wakes from his dream and discovers that the grizzly is just Barney. Milhouse gets bullied by Homer and the school bullies who saw the whole thing, so Bart ditches Milhouse.
Snake robs the Kwik-E-Mart while Milhouse feels lonely. He dreams that he is walking in a blizzard alone, and he finds a refuge shaft and jumps into it. It turns out to be the trunk of Snake's car. Snake puts a sack of money in the trunk and drives off with Milhouse inside. Milhouse dreams that he is in a ship and has found a treasure chest, but suddenly, an octopus wants the money. The octopus turns out to be Snake, and in the real world, Milhouse is fighting with Snake about the money. The police are drinking coffee and eating donuts in a café when they see what is happening, and decide that they will deal with it after the coffee. Three minutes later, they go out and arrest Snake. Apu thanks Milhouse for saving his money, and promises to give him a big present. Milhouse dreams that Apu is a genius who gives him a big gift: two free Squishees.
Milhouse gives Bart one of the free Squishees, and Bart decides to become his friend again if he slips a frog into Edna's desk. The next school day, Edna is angry because someone called Spartahouse put a frog in her desk and she wants to know who it is. Martin, Bart, and Nelson claim that they are Spartahouse. Milhouse dreams that he is the gladiator Spartahouse again and the others are helping him take on the tyrant. Bart then gives up and tells Edna that it was Milhouse.
