Mall or Nothing is a Simpsons Comics story featured in Simpsons Comics #116.

Plot

The Simpsons are at the Springfield Mall, where Homer takes a nap on a couch before he meets his family again one hour after the planned time. Homer tells Marge that he thinks he needs some time to himself to get away from the hustle and bustle and rules of daily life. Marge asks if he needs a place all to himself, like a den. Homer decides to build his own room. He turns Maggie's room into his own and moves her into Lisa's room. Marge tells him that she thought he would choose the basement. That night Lisa cannot sleep and she is tired in the morning. During breakfast, the Simpson family gets a visit from Usurpco Commerical Development Corporation, who wants to buy the house to make the new Springfield Emporia Shopping Mall. Homer looks out and sees that all the houses in the neighborhood have been demolished and he has no neighbors anymore, but Homer tells them that they will not move.

They tell Homer that they can still build the shopping center, but the supervisor of the building reminds then that if the mall is not up in time for Christmas shopping, the anchor stores will take back their contracts and they already blew their financial and the guy that won't sell his house could take them to court for months. They get an idea: they build the mall around the house. A few days later, it turns out that the mall was built around their house in just one day. Homer and Bart love the fact that they now live in a mall. Bart begins to watch movies for free in the movie theater, Homer starts drinking at Sorhead McDrunkard's Irish Pub and Lisa visits Seattle's Gloomiest Coffee, where she uses the Internet in hopes to find something that could get them to close the mall. but does not succeed. She tells Marge that it seems like a hopeless cause. The next day, Bart and Milhouse try to sell lemonade but are forced to stop selling it when the security guard tells them that they are undercutting the guaranteed lowest prices at Sourpuss Sam's Lemonopolis. Homer is not at home anymore, so Marge starts to look for him and finds him in the TV shop, where he says that his life has changed for the better. Marge tells him that she is also worried about the kids, but Homer does not care.

Lisa leaves the mall and visits the Springfield Library. After a few hours, she finds something on the map of the Springfield settlement. Later in the Usurpco Headquarters when the managers have a meeting, Lisa comes and tells them that she has something important to say: In 1803 when Jebediah Springfield was returning from a fur trapping trip down the river, his canoe drifted south into explored territory but he was found by members of the Woppakomie Tribe, who nursed him back to health and to repay their kindness, he signed a peace treaty with the tribe's chief. The Peace Treaty clearly states that any living tribe member or descendant of the Woopakomie tribe is entitled to the land and according to the map, the mall is on that land. Lisa welcomes Lenny Leonard, who is the only surviving descendant of the Woppakanomie tribe, and they must give the mall to him. Marge is happy that Lisa got them to close the mall, but doesn't like the fact that they now live in an Indian casino, but Bart and Homer are happy.
