- The episode title is a reference to the short story "The Tell-Tale Heart" by Edgar Allan Poe.
- Duffman's opening remarks on Duff Lite (which has a blue label) is a reference to the Bud Light controversy.
- Homer says "Will this show never end? Enough" to a picture of themself, referencing people that keep asking for the show to end in the real world. The picture has the text "We wouldn't be here without you. Love, Fox Network." under it.
- TFC is a parody of AMC.
- Trash for Cash is a parody of the show Bares für Rares, The Bidding Room in United Kingdom, a show aired in different countries with the name Cash or Trash.
- Leevi's is a parody of Levi's.
- Neiman Mark-Up is a parody of Neiman Marcus.
