The Simpsons: Tapped Out (TSTO) is a free game for iOS and Android, developed and published by Electronic Arts, first released on February 17, 2012. The game consists of the player helping Homer and other characters to rebuild Springfield. The game features the original cast.

The game was removed from the App Store on March 3, 2012, due to connectivity issues primarily caused by the USA release of the game two days before. August and September that year saw the game re-launch in various countries, with January and February 2013 overlooking the game's long-awaited Android launch in various countries.

The Nighthawk Diner is an event-exclusive building included with the 4th of July event. It cost 15,000 and unlocked Rex Banner upon complete build.

The diner was shown in The Simpsons at one point, but was unnamed. The addition of the diner to the game revealed its name. The diner is required in order to complete most of the "The Rocket's Red Glare" quest-line, which focuses on Apu's new costume All-American Apu selling illegal fireworks at the Kwik-E-Mart, and Rex Banner trying to bust him.

Halloween 2013 content update
On October 1, 2013, the Halloween 2013 event was released! New additions include a new costume for Homer, an other costume for Mr. Burns, tons of new characters, buildings (which includes an attraction for Krustyland), decorations and... MORE LAND!
