Alarmist is a public safety app.
History[edit]
After saving Kirk from stepping on a live wire, Lenny and Carl told Homer to sign up to Alarmist so he could report the live wire as a safety hazard. After doing so, Homer noticed that there was a leaderboard of users, with his name being at the bottom and barely readable. Comic Book Guy explained to him how the leaderboard worked and told Homer that he needed to report more hazards to get higher up the board.
Homer became obsessed with climbing the leaderboard and started reporting things that are actually harmless. Eventually, he became top of the leaderboard. However, when he tried to report on a faulty sprinkler, which he said could cause a sinkhole, he got a notification that someone called "Silver Bullet" had already reported it. This turned out to be Agnes Skinner and the two of them got into a war with each other, both trying to claim the top spot. This war led to them both clearing out the Springfield Park of people before a sinkhole opened up below them, causing them both to fall.
After Homer saved Agnes from choking, he helped her out of the hole. Agnes then reported on Homer being in the hole while Homer decided to stop using the app because he had stopped using it to help people.
Behind the Laughter[edit]
