Theo is the owner of The Institute, an institute where they try and rehabilitate the reputation of people.
When Homer had become a social pariah for accidentally pushing Reverend Lovejoy out of a window at the First Church of Springfield, Theo went to see him at Dead Lobster and told him about The Institute. Homer decided to go with him where he was introduced to the other social pariahs; Helen Lovejoy, Jed Hawk, Larry Doogan, and Kirk Van Houten.
