Cheers was a 1982-1993 U.S. TV sitcom on NBC about a group of friends who frequently meet one another in a local bar. It later led to a spin-off: Frasier.

Picture Season Episode number Episode name Reference
Flaming Moe's song.png 3 45 "Flaming Moe's" The song “Flaming Moe's” is a parody of the theme song of “Cheers”, complete with old-fashioned engravings passing by the screen. At the end when everyone shouts: “Barney!” and the bartender asks him “How does the world treat you, Mr. Gumble” a shout-out is made to the character Norm Peterson who also used to be cheered and greeted by other bar visitors with the same question.
5 87 "Marge on the Lam" Before Homer enters Moe's Tavern he says: "Sometimes you gotta go where everyone knows your name". This is a nod to the refrain of the opening theme of Cheers.
Sam Malone.png 6 114 "Fear of Flying" When Homer looks for a new bar one of them is the bar from ‘’Cheers”. Ted Danson (Sam Malone), Rhea Perlman (Carla Tortelli), John Ratzenberger (Cliff Clavin), George Wendt (Norm Peterson) and Woody Harrelson (Woody Boyd) all perform their respective characters. Also seen but without a speaking line is Frasier Crane. As the scene ends the opening bars of Cheers can be heard.
6 122 "Homer Badman" One of the corrections ‘’Rock Bottom” wants to make is that the “Cheers gang is not a real gang.”
14 300 "The Strong Arms of the Ma" Lisa is bothered by the sight of people's feet as they walk by the window, and Homer reassures her by telling her: "It's just like 'Cheers': you always knew it was a half-hour til 'Wings'", referring to the bar's being located in a basement.
How the Test Was Won couch gag.png 20 431 "How the Test Was Won" The couch gag changes to many different sets of TV sitcoms. One of them is "Cheers", with Lisa als Carla Tortelli, Marge as Diane Chambers, Homer as Norm Peterson, Bart as Woody Boyd and Maggie as Cliff Clavin. This gag would be re-used at the opening of Coming to Homerica and Moe Goes from Rags to Riches.
19 408 "Funeral for a Fiend" The family lay-out in the popular series Frasier is repeated in this episode. Kelsey Grammer and David Hyde Pierce play brothers in both series, while John Mahoney plays their father. Judith Underdunk is not voiced by a Frasier cast member however (Simpsons regular Tress MacNeille voicing her instead), likely because actress Nancy Marchand, who played Frasier's mother on Cheers, had died several years before this episode was made.
21 463 "The Bob Next Door" Marge and Homer try to reassure Bart by naming people who sound like Sideshow Bob: Frasier on Cheers, Frasier on Frasier, and Lt. Commander Tom Dodge on Down Periscope -- all three of whom were played by Kelsey Grammer, who provides the voice of Sideshow Bob.

28 599 "The Town" The Simpsons travel to Boston, which is where ‘’Cheers’ takes place, so there are quite some references made to the series, among others the theme song which is heard at various musical interludes. In a class room there is also a 'Cheers' periodic table. When the Boston Americans parade is held we can recognize the Cheers characters Cliff Clavin, Carla Tortelli and Norm Peterson in the crowd.
