"The Yellow Lotus" is the second episode of season 36 of The Simpsons and the seven-hundred and seventieth episode overall. It will air on October 6, 2024. The episode was written by Loni Steele Sosthand and directed by Matt Faughnan. It guest stars Chloe Fineman as Tasha and Kelsey Grammer as Sideshow Bob.[1][2][5]
Synopsis
- "The Simpsons encounter death on vacation at a high-end resort.[3][8]"
Production
Originally "The Beautiful Shame" had a production code 35ABF08.[9] However, in January of 2024 "The Yellow Lotus" script was read with this code,[1] while "The Beautiful Shame" was postponed.[10]
Mike Reiss and his wife Denise will appear as cameos in the background in a flashback.[11][12]
The opening credits are a parody of The White Lotus' season 2 opening and the melody of the “Yellow Lotus” song was written and sung by Kara Talve.[13]
