TV Guide is a television programming guide that also includes articles about TV shows and actors. It has occasionally featured the Simpsons. Homer Simpson has a large collection of back issues.[1][2]

History

When Homer met with Miss Hoover on Parent-Teacher Night at Springfield Elementary School, she congratulated him for doing a great job with Lisa and said he must have read to her at a young age. Homer flashed back to reading to Lisa from TV Guide when she was a baby and then said, "I've always been a firm believer in the three Rs: Reading TV Guide, writing to TV Guide, and renewing TV Guide."[3]

One of Lisa's first words was "David Hasselhoff", who was on the cover of an issue of TV Guide.[4]

When Marge asked Homer to throw away the old TV Guide's he didn't want to and started to read from an issue. He read about an episode of Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C. where Gomer upsets Sergeant Carter and he started to remember the episode.[1]

When the Simpsons family visited Cockamamie's Collectibles Shop Marge saw that they sold a TV Guide owned by Jackie O. John told her that he should see the crossword puzzle. She thought that Mindy lived with Mark.[5]

Homer threw the issue about why Alf hates Victoria Principal at a spider.[6]

Marge was cleaning in the attic when a pile of Homer's old issues of TV Guide fell on her.[2]
