It guest stars Ray Liotta as Morty Szyslak, Debi Mazar as Minnie Szyslak and Jonathan Schmock as Johnny Bermuda salesman.

Synopsis[edit]

"Homer and Marge follow Moe after the bar closes early and discover him and his father fighting. The Simpsons, after finding out that Moe has been excommunicated from his family for years, attempt to bring them back together."

Plot[edit]

In Springfield Elementary, there's school band sign ups and Marge is forcing Bart to join. Bart tries them but Marge imagines the pranks he could pull and refuses to let him play them, but settles on the violin.

Homer is however afraid that he might break it and he'd have to pay $430 to the school, so he goes on and stops him for putting it into danger, but after Bart keeps teasing him, he smashes it in the ground.

At Moe's Tavern, Moe gets angry after receiving a call from an unrevealed caller, destroying beer glasses that were delivered on a little train.

When Marge comes to drive Homer home, they follow the angry Moe to a warehouse, where they find him fighting with the caller, his dad, Morty Szyslak.

Moe closes the bar and Marge is serving him and Homer beer, while he tells them the story of how his family business is being mattress salesman, owning Mattress King.

Moe reveals them their business involves using bed bugs to ruin mattresses and force people to buy from them, but he couldn't do it to the other shops, however the owners of Sleep 'N Snooze put bed bugs in theirs and Mattress King's empire was ruined, and Moe kicked him out of his house.

Marge convinces Moe to make peace with his father, brother (Marv) and sister (Minnie) and invites them to a family dinner at the Simpson House. The dinner however gets animated and so to bring peace, Homer tries by showing them their Christmas commercial and that reconciles them.

After dinner, Morty announces he's retiring. He gives his children a store each. Moe does a grand reopening, but when the commercial for the store aired, his brother and sister edited the footage to betray him, like he betrayed the family when he didn't put the bed bugs in the other store's mattresses, and all clients left.

Moe then realizes he has to "go to the matresses" with his siblings, Szyslak's way, fighting against their stores, including removing the tags from their mattresses, and flooding the store by making holes in their water mattresses (while Homer also sprayed paint on Patty and Selma too.)

Marge realizes that the only one that can stop this is Morty, so she goes to Johnny Bermuda Retirement Attire and gets him, returning to the warehouse where Moe is treatening his siblings with bed bugging their mattresses, while his are safe at his tavern.

Morty however encourages him to do it, to prove he's worth, but Moe remembers the good times and doesn't. When Marge consoles him, he lets go of the jar and the bed bugs get all over the mattress and the people in the warehouse, which escapes out to try and get them out of their clothes.
