Synopsis[edit]
- "In a tale neither fit for man nor animal, Homer Simpson becomes television's newest reality star as his bottomless appetite and cast iron stomach are put to the test and pushed to the limits week after week on "Man Vs. Best Vs. Food." Eventually, something's gotta give, and we're talking more than a couple belt notches."
Plot[edit]
Krusty will go bankrupt if he doesn't receive any money after his Krusty-Veg Burger fails. Krusty decides to produce a reality TV show, because they are cheap to produce, so he just needs to find a suitable candidate for his new show. Homer looks enviously at Gus Gustavson while he wolfs down one Applewood-smoked bacon enrobed in rich buttery maple fudge. Bart tells Homer how he can participate on a TV show. A moment later, Homer, Bart and Lisa are in the audience of the Krusty the Clown Show. Krusty lets one member of the audience participate in a contest, and he chooses Bart. The contest turns out to be a banana eating contest against Mr. Teeny. Bart hates bananas, and it looks like he loses the race when Homer takes his place, which makes Krusty angry, but when he sees Homer's appetite, he realizes that he has found the man he was looking for in his new TV show.
Homer is the star of the TV program Man vs. Beast vs. Food, where he competes in eating contests against animals. In the first episode, Homer faces off against Aporkalypse in a corn eating contest, and wins. He then competes against Cap'n Chompy in a fried shrimp eating contest. The next program is recorded in Alaska. Marge tries to stop Krusty from recording the show, but fails, because Homer completes the contest during their conversation. Back in Springfield, Marge discovers that Homer is not himself anymore, and realizes that she has to talk to Krusty again in the final episode. Marge finds out that Homer will compete against Stampy, and she forces Krusty to let her choose the food.
It turns out that Marge has chosen the Krusty-Veg Burger, because elephants are vegetarians. When Stampy and Homer start eating the burgers, they spit them out, because they are made of 61% seaweed and recycled hamburger. Stampy and Homer become enraged, and begin running amok in Springfield. Later, Homer and Stampy calm down and rest, so Marge tells Krusty that she had no choice but to do this. Krusty tells her that it might not be a total loss, because he can sell it to America's Funniest Maulings. But when Krusty gets the bill for the contest, he starts to feel sick, and goes to rest with Homer and Stampy.
