After Police Cops change lead character Homer Simpson from a cool hero into a bumbling idiot, Homer gains a following waiting for him to do something stupid. During a school recycling campaign, Principal Skinner announces that the school is "within striking distance of our trip to Albany," which inspires applause among the students. Later in the episode, after learning how little money can be raised by recycling newspaper, Skinner announces "Sorry, kids. The trip to Albany is off." The kids groan in unison. [4]
