Synopsis[edit]
- "A workplace accident leaves Homer in a cast, and in a position to sue Mr. Burns. This leaves Marge unfulfilled, so she turns to an unexpected source for romance. Meanwhile, Lisa is made "Bus Monitor" and tries to keep the peace."
Plot[edit]
Homer arrives at the Power Plant parking lot, but he can't find a parking spot as they're all occupied by cars placed in weird positions, a hole, or even the episode credits, so he decides to park on Mr. Burns' spot, which is empty since Burns is on a hunting trip with friends. Homer then wrongly realizes that if he can use Burns' spot, he can live Burns' life for a bit, and goes around the plant wearing his clothes, and playing golf at Burns' office. However, while he's playing, Burns returns from his trip with Smithers.
Homer then gets scared and hits the ball, that bounces all around the room hitting the trapdoor button, and he falls. However, the trap is currently under renovation, and is not safe. While falling down, he hits lots of objects and construction stuff and lands on a cement mixer full of concrete. The accident causes him to have to wear a cast. At first it seems to work out fine but he quickly gets bored as he can't do anything if unable to move his arms, including not reading what Bart writes on the cast.
At the school bus, Dolph creates chaos when he tries to hit Milhouse but hits Nelson instead, and a fight starts. Otto can't do anything and Lisa decides to record the fight on her smartphone and she later shows it to Skinner, who recognizes Lisa's bus problem solving and promotes her to "bus monitor".
At Mr. Burns' office, the Blue-haired lawyer informs him that the trapdoor is illegal, as it doesn't meet modern standards, and that Homer is able to sue him and the plant. Fearing that, Burns sends Smithers to convince him not to do so. The visit however has the opposite effect, as Homer gets told that he can sue Burns.
Smithers then becomes friends with Marge, even bringing them a cake to sign, and they end up talking about their love (Homer and Mr. Burns). The talk begins to get awkward to the point that Marge starts thinking about kissing Smithers, but Burns calls him. Soon after, Marge goes with Homer, who has almost recovered from the injury, and they have sex. Meanwhile, Burns gets angry with Smithers for not getting Homer to sign the paper that relieves him of all possible sues.
At the bus, Lisa re-organizes the kids' sits, and manages to quiet them down. As a result, she starts making more plans for them, getting overzealous, and then for the whole school, but the kids soon get upset with her and rebel against her. When the bus arrives at the school it's a wreck and on fire. Lisa is left confused while the kids leave laughing and Milhouse explains that the bus rides are supposed to be crazy, which relieves her.
Homer soon realizes Marge is hanging out with Smithers a lot and to stop that he needs to give up on the lawsuit, making his lawyer sad. To make him feel better, he tries to do a "slip 'n' fall" on the courthouse steps, but Marge tries to save him and they both fall down the steps, and get run over by a truck. They then get back home both in casts, bringing them close together.
The episode ends with Lisa at school, trying not to be the know-it-all, but fails, answering all the questions correctly, including Miss Hoover's dentist appointment.
