Krustonia is a Simpsons Comics story first printed in Simpsons Comics #28.

Plot[edit]

At a board meeting, Krusty is told he can no longer keep avoiding his taxes. One of the board members suggests talking to Bart due to the previous incident where he accidentally exposed Krusty's illegal account. Bart suggests to Krusty that he starts his own tax-free country. After extensive advertising, several residents of Springfield choose to join the new country known as Krustonia. At first Krusty successfully provides food, shelter, leadership and entertainment, but eventually the citizens complain that they live only on salamis. With the help of federal marshall Ferris Gabley, the Springfield police cut the power, resulting in Krustonia residents performing forced labor to provide the energy. The Krusty the Clown Show is also dropped from the network now that it's a foreign broadcast. The US Army, led by Principal Skinner, break into the country as Lisa is due to return a school library book. The citizens rebel against Krusty after learning the salamis are made from tadpoles. Months later after the nation's collapse, Sideshow Mel receives an award for his film about the events that took place.
