"Good Morning Starshine" is a song performed by a crowd of Springfieldians. Homer also once sang a portion of the song as a solo.

History[edit]

A large group of Springfieldians (and a few visitors) sang the song after a series of alien sightings near Springfield. At the third sighting, which took place in front of a large crowd of townspeople, it was revealed that the alien was actually Mr. Burns, who had developed a habit of wandering into the woods in a dazed and confused state following his weekly medical treatments. Burns began issuing threats to the crowd, but when Dr. Nick cut him off by administering a booster shot, Burns reverted back to his "alien" persona and led the crowd in singing the song.[1]

When the Simpson family vacationed in Africa, their guide Kitenge invited Homer to sing along to some African music that was playing on the radio. Homer responded by singing the "nonsense lyrics" portion of "Good Morning Starshine".[2]

Lyrics[edit]

Mr. Burns:
Good morning, starshine
The earth says hello
Leonard Nimoy:
You twinkle above us
We twinkle below
Everyone:
Good morning, starshine
You lead us along
My love and me as we sing
Our early morning singing song
Gliddy gloop gloopy
Nibby nobby nooby
La la la lo lo
Sabba sibby sabba
Nooby abba dabba
Le le lo lo
Dooby ooby walla
Dooby abba dabba
Early morning singing a song
