Bart the Red-Nosed Reindeer[edit]
- The story is a parody of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, featuring Bart the Red-Nosed Reindeer instead of Rudolph.
- Multiple references to the song "Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer" by Gene Autry are made throughout the story.
- The Land of Defective Toys is a parody of the Island of Misfit Toys from the 2001 Christmas film Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and the Island of Misfit Toys.
Frostee the Snowmom[edit]
- The story is a parody of the TV special Frosty the Snowman.

- When Mr. Burns tells Smithers to have five acres of rainforest flown in, Smithers says that'll make Sting cry. Sting is then seen crying.
