Li'l Chickadee (also Little Chickadee[1] and previously The Legion of the Hooded Falcon) is a children's scouting organization in Springfield, where members can earn badges. Its mascot is the pink-beaked chickadee. Members have to follow "The Chickadee Code", previously called "The Dread Blood Oath of the Hooded Falcons", which states that disagreements between members must be settled by a battle of the badges - a competition to see who can achieve the most badges within a single day. In the event of a tie, the Dread Blood Oath states that the competitors must take part in "The Night of Terror" where they spend a night in the woods inside a tent, where the winner is the one who does not scream.[2] Every year the members partake in a cookie sale.[1]

History[edit]
The organization was previously called The Legion of the Hooded Falcon, where the main activities were running, climbing, killing and skinning. Mr. Burns was a member during this time.[2]
Many years later, Mr. Burns plotted to destroy the Springfield Nature Preserve to make room for a golf course, to the protests of Lisa and other Li'l Chickadee members. When he saw Lisa's uniform, he retreated his destruction vehicles, realizing he would have broken The Chickadee Code. He revealed to Smithers that he was a member of the organization as a child when it had its previous name, and following the Code, participated in a Battle of the Badges against Lisa. The result was a tie, so the they took part in "The Night of Terror". Mr. Burns lost when he screamed after hearing the sounds of the logging machines he was going to use to cut down the forest, and admitted defeat.[2]
For one of the yearly cookie sales, the member who sold the most cookies would win a trip to see "The Malibu Stacy Song and Dance Spectacular" at the Krustyworld Amusement Park. Bart enabled all the members except Lisa to sell all their cookies to Homer, in exchange for doing Bart's homework for him. Homer was unable to buy any more from Lisa, as he was overloaded from the other sales.[1]
For another cookie sale, the funds were intended to go to starving kids in Africa, but Homer ate all of Lisa's. He then dressed up as one of the scouts to sell cookies to make up for the lost money.[3]
Milhouse attempted to sell Li'l Chickadee cookie boxes in the organization's uniform for his grandfather but the people of Springfield refused to buy any, as he was dressed in a girls' uniform. Bart took him to 742 Evergreen Terrace to sell them to Homer, who immediately ate all the boxes.[4]
