Apu on Rigel 7 is a Bart Simpson's Treehouse of Horror story first printed in Bart Simpson's Treehouse of Horror #5.

Synopsis[edit]

Apu is transported to Rigel 7 where he helps Kang defeat the dictator Burnzak.

Plot[edit]

At Burns' manor, Mr. Burns tells Smithers about the bet he had with Catherine the Great, the former Empress of Russia, when he was young. He never collected his winnings and let the interest grow over the years. As a result, Russia has to send him advanced technology that he requests to pay off the debt. Russia sends Burns a teleportation device. However, Smithers points out that it looks like a Kwik-E-Mart hot dog warmer instead. At the Kwik-E-Mart, Apu receives his new hot dog warmer. When he activates it to use it to cook the hot dogs, it instead hits him with a beam that teleports him above Rigel 7, the home planet of the Rigellians. Apu falls down to the planet and lands on Kodos, killing her immediately.

Apu tries to explain that he just materialized onto Kodos and didn't mean to kill her, but then tries to use the teleportation device to escape, only to find that it is broken. After a standoff between Apu and Kang, the two of them decide to work together to overthrow the Rigellian dictator, Burnzak, in exchange for Kang repairing the teleporter after it breaks. Kodos was the only Rigellian with the fighting ability to overthrow him, which means it would be a struggle to beat him. Apu and Kang head toward the town but find that it's empty. Kang and Apu see Burnzak and Smithos giving a speech to the Rigellians, telling them that they will each get a complimentary cow and probe if they worship him. Apu and Kang then attack Burnzak with boards with nails in them, but they are unable to penetrate his dome and Burnzak uses a mind ray to destroy the weapons. Apu and Kang run and jump onto a shuttle as Burnzak and Smithos give chase, with Burnzak climbing on Smithos as he is ground into the planet's surface. Burnzak catches Apu and gets ready to shoot him in the head, but Kang saves his new friend and gets shot instead. Apu then throws a Kwik-E-Mart donut at Burnzak, which is hard enough to decapitate him. Apu tries to get Kang to wake up and open his eye, which he eventually does, revealing that he just took a nap after defeating Burnzak. Kang fulfills his end of the bargain and Apu returns to the Kwik-E-Mart.

Later, Mr. Burns gets another piece of Kwik-E-Mart technology instead of the super-growth beam he wanted. He complains about getting Kwik-E-Mart junk every time the Russians send him something, and Smithers wonders where the super-growth machine is. Meanwhile, Apu has grown to a huge size and broken through the roof of the Kwik-E-Mart.
