April Fools' Day is an annual custom on 1 April consisting of practical jokes and hoaxes.

History[edit]

According to Lisa, on April 1, 1022, pagans were peacefully celebrating the New Year in honor of Baal when they were interrupted by settlers who attempted to play pranks on them. This event was considered to be the origin of April Fools' Day.[1]

One of Bart's pranks, in revenge for Homer's pranks, involved shaking up a beer in a paint shaker. This resulted in a massive explosion, and Homer was severely injured and rushed to the hospital.[1]

Pranks[edit]

  • Homer put duct tape over Bart's eyes before he woke up.[1]
  • Homer placed sour milk in the fridge for Bart to drink.[1]
  • Bart shook up a Duff Beer in a paint shaker for Homer to drink.[1]
  • The employees at The Frying Dutchman put ink on one side of Horatio McCallister's monocular, causing him to stain his eye when he used it.[1]
  • Dr. Julius Hibbert told Homer's family that Homer was dead.[1]
  • Homer told the family they were going to Hawaii, not realizing it was actually May 16th.[1]
  • Homer was voted Employee of the Month as a joke.[2]

Lisa won the April Fools' Day contest in Springfield Elementary School with a simple whoopee cushion, which annoyed Bart because her jokes did not make him laugh.[3]

Behind the Laughter[edit]

On April Fools' Day 2012, Wikisimpsons turned into Family Guy Wiki for the occasion.
