She also loved to draw, which was discovered when Ned found her sketch pad after her death. Maude Flanders was a devout Christian who once attended a Bible camp to learn how to be more judgmental. Maude was often partnered with Helen Lovejoy as they protested against the "evils" in Springfield, and she campaigned strongly against Itchy and Scratchy with Marge. Maude died after she was knocked off a grandstand at the Springfield Speedway in a tee-shirt cannon accident. Ned and Maude met Homer and Marge after their wedding. Ned and Maude Flanders, who were driving by, noticed them as hitchhikers and picked them up. Ned and Maude shocked Homer and Marge by revealing them that they're married (since 2:00 pm that day). "Simpsons Bible Stories" is the eighteenth episode of season 10 of The Simpsons and the two-hundred and twenty-first episode overall. It is an anthology episode and consists of four parts. It originally aired on April 4, 1999. The episode was written by Tim Long, Larry Doyle and Matt Selman and directed by Nancy Kruse. A particularly boring sermon by Reverend Lovejoy sends each member of the Simpson family into his or her own biblical fantasy. Marge imagines herself and Homer as Adam and Eve, Lisa dreams of herself and the other kids of Springfield Elementary as the Israelites in ancient Egypt, Homer dreams he is King Solomon, solving every dispute by cutting the contested object in half, and Bart dreams that he is King David who is overthrown by the son of Goliath... Moses was, according to the Hebrew Bible, a religious leader, lawgiver, and prophet, to whom the authorship of the Torah is traditionally attributed. In about 1200 B.C. at Mt. Sinai, he gave the people the Ten Commandments from God. In a dream by Lisa, Milhouse portrayed Moses. Lisa convinced Moses to tell the Pharaoh to let his people go, but the Pharaoh refused. Moses and Lisa then tried dropping frogs into the Pharaoh's tent, but he just ate them instead. Lisa and Moses were then thrown into the pyramid's tomb, but escaped after triggering a trap. Moses and Lisa then told the slaves that they were leaving and got to the Red Sea. Moses then had all the slaves flush the toilets by the Red Sea at the same time, causing it to temporarily drain so they could cross it. The Flanders family once made a short film about the life of Moses and entered it into the Springfield Film Festival... Read more of this article | Vote for a comprehensive article |
