The Aphrodite Inn is perhaps the most luxurious hotel in Springfield. It boasts fifty-seven individually-themed rooms.[1] Reservations are not required, but guests are strongly advised to book their rooms in advance in order to avoid winding up in one of the less-desirable rooms.

History

Gunter and Ernst are frequent lodgers at the Aphrodite Inn.[1] So, apparently, is Mayor Quimby, and the Caveman Room appears to be one of his favorites.[2]

When Selma married Troy McClure, they honeymooned at the Aphrodite Inn, with the occasion being commemorated by a notice on the hotel's marquee sign.[3] Other celebrity guests who have stayed at the hotel include Cher[3] and Krusty the Clown[1], along with their contest winners, according to the marquee.

Homer and Marge stayed at the Aphrodite Inn for a night (at the same time as one of Quimby's visits), hoping that a romantic night out would inject some spice into their marriage. The idea fizzled, however, when the only room available was the hotel's utility room, in spite of Homer's best efforts to create a romantic fantasy out of the situation.[2]

Rooms

The themed rooms at the Aprodite Inn include:

  • The Smokey and the Bandit Suite (Guests sleep in a black Trans Am surrounded by cases of Coors beer.[1]
  • The Oval Office (A near-exact replica of the real thing; the President's desk is a fold-out vibrating bed.)[1]
  • The Arabian Nights Room[2]
  • The Pharaoh's Chamber (When Homer and Marge were waiting to check in, Homer noted that it had a vibrating sarcophagus.)[2]
  • The Caveman Room (Mayor Quimby, dressed in a "thematically-appropriate" outfit, came out to say that the toilet was overflowing.)[2]
  • The Safari Room[2]
  • The Camelot Room[2]
  • The Utility Room (The hotel's actual utility room; Homer and Marge ended up here because everything else was booked.)[2]

Guests who fail to make reservations may find themselves stuck in one of the following:

  • The This Room Contains Chemicals That Are Known to Be Hazardous to Your Health Room[1]
  • The Leaky, Dusty, Stained-Carpet Suite[1]
