Model Citizen Simpson is a Bart Simpson story first printed in Bart Simpson #64.
Synopsis
- "Everyone at the school is waiting for the daily prank from Bart but he's changed - he is courteous and kind."
Plot
As the school day starts, Principal Skinner and Mrs. Krabappel discuss having to wait for Bart to show up to cause trouble. However, when the kids do show up, Bart acts kind and courteous. However, since the teachers were expecting the worst, they panic anyway. The two of them follow Bart into the school where they see Bart being polite to staff. Later, at lunch, Lunchlady Doris panics when Bart asks her for lunch and throws a tray of food everywhere. Skinner goes to punish Bart, but he says that all he did was ask for lunch, which Lunchlady Doris also confirms. At recess, Nelson hits Bart with a dodgeball, but Bart just returns the ball to him. The school day ends without Bart doing anything bad.
When Bart returns home, Marge tells him to do his homework, and Bart says he'll clean his room as well before going to play. Meanwhile, at the Kwik-E-Mart, Principal Skinner is drinking Squishees until Apu cuts him off due to having maxed out his debit card. Skinner leaves the Kwik-E-Mart as Bart and Milhouse skateboard past him. Skinner gets scared and falls into the road where he is almost hit by a taxi. The taxi avoids him, but crashes into an oil truck, which then crashes into Nate's House of Fireworks & Discount Nitrate Film Stock, causing an explosion and fireworks to light up the sky. Bart and Milhouse watch the fireworks, not knowing where they came from, as they talk about Bart deciding that he would spend the day not causing trouble. Bart then says that he'll go back to normal tomorrow.
