Location Information

The Springfield Retirement Castle is Springfield's retirement home for the elderly. Some noted residents of the Castle include Abraham "Grampa" J. Simpson, his neighbor, Jasper Beardley, and Malloy. One time, Abe Simpson had a neighbor named Zelda whom he pursued by stealing Homer's car and driving to Branson. Another flame of his, Bea Simmons made the Retirement Castle her last home. Other long-term or temporary occupants include the Old Jewish Man Hans Moleman, and even Homer Simpson.
Medication
In one episode, the administration of the Retirement Castle stopped distributing pills to its residents, shortly after Mr. Burns canceled the health care program at his power plant. This caused Homer and Abe to go to Canada and get the badly needed medicine.
Loneliness
To Abraham Simpson, the Retirement Castle is a lonely place to be. He often gets mad when his family doesn't come and visit him. The door features a sign reading 'Thank you for not discussing the outside world'. The main fun to be had in the home is to "stake yourself out a good spot at the staring window", which overlooks nothing but a barren tree, and bingo (prize: a whole banana).
Nature

Staff
The staff of the home have little to no respect for the residents, doing things like vacuuming their hair during "nap time", or switching their IV sacks with their catheter sacks when the former is empty and the latter is full. At one point, the Simpsons come to visit Grandpa with Santa's Little Helper, who leapt out of the car and ran in as they pulled up. Lisa commented, "He must smell leftovers," and a nearby tenant said, "Please, we prefer senior citizen." However, the staff does on occasion show some respect for the residents. When Montgomery Burns' hitman tried to shoot Abe Simpson with an uzi, the head nurse pulled out a shotgun and shot toward the would-be killer, saying "Our residents are trying to nap" in between her shots.
Redecoration
In the episode Old Money Grandpa inherits $106,000 which he uses to refurbish and redecorate the home.
Trivia
In another episode, Lisa gives the Retirement Castle a Funtendo Zii, although that doesn't exist. However, it is more likely to be a
