Tips
Just a few tips, a shortcut to wikipedia is: What text you want displayed Also, Bart, Lisa, Homer, Marge and Maggie as well as various other recurring character first names redirect to their article so instead of putting Lisa, just put Lisa Thanks, ☆The Solar Dragon (Talk)☆ 16:11, March 31, 2010 (UTC)
- Also, with templates, you do not need the Template: bit, just the template name in the . And, if you could include the whole infobox on pages, even if we do not have that info please as it can be added in at a later date. ☆The Solar Dragon (Talk)☆ 20:25, April 1, 2010 (UTC)

Image Licensing
You have recently uploaded the image File:Saltire5.jpg, to this wiki; however, you did not add a licensing tag to it. Every image on Wikisimpsons must have the correct copyright status provided in the image's description within a day, otherwise it will be deleted. There are licensing templates provided which can be placed on the page to provide copyright status. The templates can be used through the drop down menus which you will find on the upload screen. See Wikisimpsons:Images for more information.Thank you.

Okay, but HTH do I ADD the licensing info once it's been uploaded?? Mythigator 14:25, May 1, 2010 (UTC)
- If you mean how, see MediaWiki:Licenses for a full list. The writing on the left of the pipe is the template name. Just type that in the template brackets. ☆The Solar Dragon (Talk)☆ 14:28, May 1, 2010 (UTC)
- Well, here's the skinny ... I downloaded the saltire from a website YEARS ago, and I have no idea which site it was (after checking some possibilities, I think it no longer exists). The datestamp on the original file is October 16, 2001, which was two computers and several hard drive reformats ago. Since then I've modified it several times for use as a message board avatar, most recently to re-size it for the user image space on Wikisimpsons. Because it wasn't exactly bolted down to start with, I'm inclined to think that the "fairuse" tag applies, but how do I ADD that info to an existing image? Mythigator 14:43, May 1, 2010 (UTC)
- Edit the picture location like a normal article and add the template. ☆The Solar Dragon (Talk)☆ 14:44, May 1, 2010 (UTC)
- If the website no longer exists, just put that in source. ☆The Solar Dragon (Talk)☆ 14:45, May 1, 2010 (UTC)
- Got it. I think that covers all the bases. Mythigator 14:53, May 1, 2010 (UTC)
- Fine now then. Thanks for that. ☆The Solar Dragon (Talk)☆ 14:55, May 1, 2010 (UTC)
Aaaaaaaaaaaagh!
In case you are wondering, some how, you recreated the page. It must have been just as I deleted it or something. Anyway, I know you didn't mean to recreate it so it doesn't matter. Just in case you see the deletion log and see that you created it. The Solar Dragon 16:17, June 4, 2010 (UTC)
- Weird, but the timing would certainly explain what happened. At any rate, thanks for the info. -- Mythigator 17:20, June 4, 2010 (UTC)
Scarlet Scarab's Image Tab Question
can i go ahead and put image tabs on character pages (ex. Seth, etc.) whichever ones i find don't have one? ScarletScarabX (Talk) 11:57, June 11, 2010 (UTC)
- Do you mean the "Image Needed" template? If so, then of course, and in fact, that's an excellent idea. Articles with the "Image Needed" template automatically get placed into an "Articles Needing Images" category, where they'll be more likely to come to the attention of someone on an "image quest" -- that is, looking specificallly to put images in articles that need one. Just make sure you put the template at the very beginning of the article where it will also be noticed by anyone who randomly comes across the article. Then said random surfer may go on their own image quest. Thanks!! -- Mythigator 12:04, June 11, 2010 (UTC)
- thanks for getting back to me on it i saw munchie had one and seth didnt would it be images or images needed? i guess i'll find out now. ScarletScarabX (Talk) 21:38, June 11, 2010 (UTC)
- Template:Image Needed. The Solar Dragon 21:39, June 11, 2010 (UTC)
Back to Work
In case anyone cares: I am working again, fourteen months after being laid off (I believe the UK term is "redundant") at my former job. I just finished my first full week at my new job. As far as the wiki is concerned, I will be less active, but still contributing. -- Mythigator 06:06, July 3, 2010 (UTC)
- Congrats on your job then. Hope to see you around still then. The Solar Dragon 07:40, July 3, 2010 (UTC)
Season Articles
It was nothing. Wikisimpsons needed legitimate season articles if it had the episodes. In fact, there was no articles on after Season 3. I made Season 4 and 5 btw. Thanks for helping out, including others who also contributed. I would like it if the summaries were formally made to make it look more professional, up to Wikipedia standards. We have a long way to go to create the season articles here.
OhstaWiki 14:17, July 3, 2010 (UTC)OhstaWiki
Hi Ohsta, thanks for answering. I do have some thoughts about the season articles in general, and the epidsode summaries in particular, but I'll have to post the details later today when I'll have more time to write. For now, I just wanted to let you know that your response got posted twice and I deleted the duplicate. -- Mythigator 17:22, July 3, 2010 (UTC)

Mark Hamill
In articles, such as Mark Hamill, the (character) in the title is known as a disambiguation, and, per customs, those should always be in small case, not with capitals. I'm not entirely sure what point you're trying to prove, but it's counterproductive. -- Brian McClure 13:35, August 1, 2010 (UTC)
- Well, you're the one who has made a big deal out of it, for whatever reason. It's simply a case of grammar. Because "character" is not a noun, it should be spelled lower case. -- Brian McClure 13:43, August 1, 2010 (UTC)
My understanding of wiki-lingo is that is a disambiguation page is designed as a launch point to refer users to the correct page in the event that two articles could possibly have the same title. If I'm mistaken, I'll stand corrected. No particular "point" is involved; just some article housecleaning regarding celebrities who appear as themselves on the show. Solar made a blog entry titled "Changes to Layout of Articles" which should explain what's going on. -- Mythigator 13:47, August 1, 2010 (UTC)
At any rate, if a lower-case c for "character" is the customary preference, no problem. Thanks! -- Mythigator 13:48, August 1, 2010 (UTC)Brian, my apologies. The custom was in place long since and I should have noticed it (for example, on the "Mr. Plow" group of articles). I see where you're coming from now and thanks again. -- Mythigator 14:07, August 1, 2010 (UTC)
Seven Duffs
Hi, when doing up this article, do you mind if you could create an individual page for all 7 Duffs as well? Thanks, ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 07:20, August 11, 2010 (UTC)
- I thought about that, but the only individual Duff on whom enough material exists to make a decent stand-alone article is Surly (and maybe Sleazy, but even he would be a bit of a stretch). As they've been portrayed so far, the other Duffs' significance is as a group, which IMO is pretty thin grounds for making individual articles. -- Mythigator 12:02, August 11, 2010 (UTC)
- Okay. Got Surly Duff's page written, and it turned out better than I thought it would. -- Mythigator 12:48, August 11, 2010 (UTC)
The Bob Next Door
Hi. Did you manage to DVR The Bob Next Door after? I'd like to find out who voiced Walt Warren. Its very weird that nobody seems to know who voiced him. Effluvium talk contributions email 21:31, August 15, 2010 (UTC)
- I did, and I just now got around to checking the credits. The only voice actor other than the regular cast is Kelsey Grammer, who of course voiced Sideshow Bob. My personal suspicion now is that Dan Castellaneta voiced Walt, as Walt sounds a LOT like Gil, and Dan C. voices Gil. We still need word from an official source, though. --Mythigator 00:51, August 16, 2010 (UTC)
- Ah-uh. Hmmm, thats strange. You've got me thinking that it's Dan too. Effluvium talk contributions email 21:32, August 20, 2010 (UTC)
Huh?
That's not "proper" capitalization. This isn't Germany. That's not the style at Wikipedia or any other wiki, so rather than making this wiki look "sharper" it makes it look dumber. Gran2 20:41, August 20, 2010 (UTC)
It seems to me that the section titles are kind of like book titles and should be capitalized accordingly. Using lower-case on the words after the first looks sloppy, IMO. -- Mythigator 20:58, August 20, 2010 (UTC)
- Right, sure. But I repeat: that's not the style used at Wikipedia, Lostpedia or Wookieepedia. Three places where it's a good idea to copy what they do. Gran2 21:06, August 20, 2010 (UTC)
- I'll take your word for it based on your experience with Wikipedia. To paraphrase Sideshow Bob, nitpick cheerfully withdrawn. -- Mythigator 21:09, August 20, 2010 (UTC)
