Cultural References
- Lionel Hutz references Webster's Dictionary.
- The second segment is a parody of the Twilight Zone episode, Terror at 20000ft. Only with a bus instead of a plane.
- Mr. Burns is Count Dracula. More specifically, he is Bram Stroker’s Dracula.
- In the ending scene, Milhouse-Schroeder is playing the piano, while Santa's Little Helper-Linus is dancing to the music, a reference to the Peanuts.
Trivia
- This is one of several Simpsons episodes which are considered anthology episodes that features mini-stories.
- Richard Nixon says "I'm not dead" (protesting being summoned to serve on the Devil's jury) in this episode, but he would die 6 months later.
- This was the last Treehouse of Horror to be told as a story given by one of the characters.
