Lisa tries to get the students at the school to start reading books again, but finds out that they only read on tablets today. She then tries to get the women in Springfield to start reading again, but finds out they only use audio books. Lisa and Bart watching the news when they report that Lampwick has died and Bob has inherited his money. In the news Bob says that Bart Simpson will get what's coming to him. Lisa tries to get the comic book fans to start reading the comic books in the library but finds out that Comic Book Guy covers the comic books with poison ivy. It's been a few weeks, and Bob has built "Bartland" with his money and asks Bart to came to the place tomorrow for the inauguration. Lisa tries to get the elderly to start reading books, but the books expose them to paper cuts. Mayor Quimby decides to close the library.
Bart and Lisa go to Bartland. During there first trip the two are almost killed, and they realize that all of the attractions are death traps. Bob has locked the two in the amusement park. Lisa writes "Help" with mustard on hot dogs and throws them out to the street from the amusement park. The police come and release them, but not because they saw the text on the hot dog, instead they came for more hot dogs. Lisa tells them that she found Lampwick in the "Hall of Mirrors". Bob tells them that he tried to kill Bart again, but he has a button that will blow up the whole amusement park. He pushes the button, but it turns out that Cletus did not connect the dynamite to the charge, so the button fails and Bob gets arrested. Lisa tells Bart and Lampwick that she is happy that the two are safe, but sad that the library is now closed. Lampwick says he can open the library again. The library is now inhabited, and people are reading books, but the only visitors are the homeless. Lisa is not happy, because the library is too crowded.
