Dark Radioactive Man!, also known as In Ze Clutches of Dr. Crab!, is a Radioactive Man comic story first printed in Radioactive Man #412.

Synopsis

Dr. Crab has managed to capture the Superior Squadron but when they manage to defeat him once again Radioactive Man ends up dead.

Plot

Dr. Crab has captured the whole Superior Squadron, except for Radioactive Man and Fallout Boy. Dr. Crab threatens to kill them with his accelerated particle blaster, unless Radioactive Man gives up, and because does not have a plan right now he gives up temporarily. Dr. Crab attaches a belt to Fallout Boy and Radioactive Man, which makes them incapable of using their power. Dr. Crab tells them that they are in his Asteroid base and after he flies, it starts to travel directly into the sun. Radioactive Man starts to get a flashback about why he is here: he was with Gloria Grand on the presidential debates, after which they went to the opera, where he received an alert from Superior Squadron that they were in danger. Radioactive Man and Fallout Boy sought after the source of the signal and it led them to Dr. Crab, who managed to defeat him. Captain Squid begins to fight against the stassis field, and finds a vent in the tube, in which he can use his extended finger to reach the button that takes off Radioactive Man's belt. Radioactive Man breaks himself out and finishes Dr. Crab off, then releases his friends. Radioactive Man happens to step on the particle blaster control and activates the beam, which shoots straight at him. He stops breathing and has no pulse; he's dead. The blast torches the asteroid and destroys it, so they decide to escape from the asteroid.

At Radioactive's funeral, his flash is taken out by Fallout Boy. Dr. Crab is happy that he can now take over the world, even though he did not manage to kill all of the Superior Squadron yet; they have no leader anymore. After the funeral, Fallout Boy gives the flash to Gloria Grand, then visits the home of the Superior Squadron and finds that everyone is fighting to become the new leader. Suddenly Dr. Crab comes in with his robots, and it looks like the Superior Squadron is doomed, when Radioactive Man appears in a new dark suit and throws Dr. Crab out of the building. They are surprised that he is alive, and Bug Boy examines him in his lab and explains why he is alive: when Fallout Boy took off the flash, his body repaired itself. Suddenly Radioactive Man decides to leave the lab and he seems to have become crazy, and Bug Boy says that unless he gets his flash back, he will explode with a force of 100 megatons of bombs. Fallout Boy visits Gloria and after he explains what happened, she gives him the flash. Radioactive Man tries to challenge his friends to a duel, but they do not want to do it. Just before he has full power, Fallout Boy puts the flash into his brain and when he wakes up, he is normal again, but not everyone is happy about it: a mysterious man says that he doesn't know what awaits him.
