Movies

Basic Instinct

  • A secondary character owns a key-ring representing Bart Simpson. It is shown several times throughout the movie and becomes a key element to explain a murder.

Bulworth

  • A short clip showing Lionel Hutz is edited in the opening credits.

Flubber

  • For about three seconds, Bart and Lisa laughing on a couch on the yellow robot can be seen.

Garfield the Movie

  • Garfield flips the channel of the TV to the episode Dog of Death.

Inspector Gadget

  • A scene shows Sykes sleeping in front of a control panel, mirroring a TV in the background showing Homer Simpson sleeping at his workstation.

  • In the episode "A Tale of Two Cows" a reference to the floorboard gag is made when as the camera moves up between the floorboards two skeletons that resemble Bart and Lisa Simpson can be seen.

The Fairly OddParents

  • Channel Chasers: When Timmy, Wanda and Cosmo go inside their TV, one TV show they travel into is a parody of The Simpsons. It features a chalkboard gag parody, parodies of Krusty, Ned Flanders, and Barney, and a couch gag.

Futurama

  • In one episode, when Fry, Leela and Bender land on a giant ball of trash that's heading towards a collision course on Earth, Fry spots a pile of Bart Simpson dolls. Bender pulls a string behind one of them, which causes the doll to utter Bart's catchphrase "Eat My Shorts.", which Bender promptly follows (also uttering "Mmmmm...Shorts.")

Histeria

  • In an episode, the theme song is a parody of the Simpsons opening theme.

How I Met Your Mother

  • In one episode, Ted says "Let's teach Bart Simpsons how to drive!"

Saturday Night Live

  • A Britney Spears imitator says that her sisters show Zoey 101 is better than animated shows like The Simpsons.

  • In an episode, they make a reference to Apu.

  • In the episode "Hocus Pocus", SpongeBob SquarePants says "turn a dadly didly back to squadly!". This could be a reference to Ned Flanders. In the same episode Spongebob also says Okely Dokely.
  • In the episode "Krabby Land", Mr. Krabs says "here's Krabby the Klown!". This could be a reference to Krusty the Klown.
  • In The Spongebob Squarepants Movie, There is a scene in which Spongebob and Patrick eat sundaes in an ice cream bar. After eating a large amount of ice cream, both act drunk and burp exactly like Barney Gumble. This could be a reference to Barney in Moe's Tavern.

  • In one episode, The Simpsons appear on a TV screen.

Keeping Up Appearances

  • In "Seaside Fun", Hyacinth and the Italian are riding bumper cars in a place where Simpsons billboards are on the wall, signalling rules of not what to do in the bumper cars.

Video Games

Team Fortress 2

  • In the game, a hat is available to the Medic called "Ze Goggles" with the description stating that it does "nothing", a reference to a line from Ranier Wolfcastle in the episode Radioactive Man (which is also a popular internet meme).
  • In a blog post on the TF2 website explaining the development of the class "Demoman" (a black Scottish cyclops), the developers mentioned that they made the character black because at the time it looked too much like a "Groundskeeper in Springfield."

Duke Nukem 3D

  • In the level "Stadium", the zeppelin hovering overhead reads "Duf Beer".
  • In the level "Going Postal", at the bathroom there is wrote something backwards in the wall. Look at the mirror and it can be read "Pick Up Bart". This is a reference to the episode "Brother from the Same Planet" which Milhouse wrote that in the wall written (which itself is a reference to The Shining).
  • In the level "Critical Mass", there is a secret place which has wrote in the wall "Sector 7-G", there is a large computer with a lot of donuts over it.
