Hello!

Hello, my name is EdBoy3. I am new to Wikisimpsons and I am an admin at a place you may find familiar, Beyblade Wiki. I see you have left due to Wikia changing the skin. I want to move Beyblade Wiki from Wikia to an independent Wiki host like MediaWiki, as you have done with WikiSimpsons. Now we really miss you, you were a great contributor to Beyblade Wiki and we want you to help us move from Wikia. I tried to do it but it was far too complex for me to handle, we need someone like you to please help us move to MediaWiki. Now now I'm not done, I will edit here actively at Wikisimpsons as I do at Beyblade Wiki, if you have seen my edits there. We really want your help for Beyblade Wiki to move and I will edit here if you help us, HazeShot misses you, so can you please help Beyblade Wiki move to MediaWiki, I will owe you big time, like I could have Beyblade Wiki affiliate with you by providing a link on the Main Page. I swear, cross my heart and hope to die. User talk:EdBoy3

I have provided some links to show you I am not a poser.

Hi, I didn't help move the wiki over. If you want to move to independence and need help, I would ask Jake for help. Good to see you are moving away from Wikia although I wasn't a major part of the wiki, just an admin who didn't do a lot of editing. ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 05:13, 16 June 2011 (UTC)
Whoa, whoa, you made a wiki on ShoutWiki. Are you interested in moving to ShoutWiki? ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 05:22, 16 June 2011 (UTC)
I created a wiki on ShoutWiki so I could see if it was easier and much better than installing MediaWiki. Could you tell me which one is better? I see you are an admin there but an admin called, Lynton closed two other ShoutWikis I made about Beyblade Wiki and left me with the Monobook one. Could you turn the Moonbook one to using Monaco please, it would be a big help. One more thing, could you ask Jake if he can help move it would really help, thank you. :) --EdBoy3 22:11, 16 June 2011 (UTC)
If you want Monaco there, you have to ask Jack Phoenix about having Monaco. However, it is only available until August before it becomes a paid feature. If you want to move independent, you need money. ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 05:14, 17 June 2011 (UTC)

Hello

Hello Solar, I'm not sure whether you got my email or not but most of the interaction you have had with "Esycos" or form my email was a hacker and from what I managed to sift through the crap they did, I found some stuff on ShoutWiki, despite that had left. People were pissed that they got some revertible vandalism while I got part of my real life messed with. I have had to redo a heap of anti-vandalism and spam stuff everywhere I am. Luckily I have two email accounts so they couldn't get into all the places I used. I do hope you understand as I came across all the stuff that happened and was rather pissed off about it. According to a friend of mine who looked into my hack said the IP may have come from Scotland, who I am assuming was Jaymach, that little bitch has tried to mess with me several times so far. I intend to edit here as lately I've had nothing to do but watch tv shows mostly the simpsons. Anyway just thought you should know. Escyos 06:58, 16 June 2011 (UTC)

Yes, I got the email but didn't respond in case it was a trick. Anyway, what happened to my Stargate Wiki account? It just disappeared. ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 17:06, 16 June 2011 (UTC)
Well I change passwords frequently now so there no, or very little, chance that it will happen again. Anyway as for your account, I didn't get a database dump, i used the export/import feature in small doses and some things were lost, I just wanted to leave that wiki and move to my independent one as quickly as i could, so as soon as I could I did. Unfortunately I had to disable account creation because of vandals, who only could vandalise by creating obscene and vandalous usernames such as "dislike stargatewiki.org" and "call 04XXXXXXXXX" (which was my number). So if you want an account I can create one for you. Escyos 03:49, 17 June 2011 (UTC)

Analytics Account

I've set up an analytics account for you, and sent the password to your Wikisimpsons email account. You can access the analytics here with the username 'SolarDragon'. --Jake 16:15, 17 June 2011 (UTC)

Cool, I have access. Thanks. ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 16:50, 17 June 2011 (UTC)

Shoutwiki

Hey solar, Shoutwiki's been down for awhile today, have you heard anything further? --Hockeyben 17:51, 17 June 2011 (UTC)

Hang on, I'll ping staff again. ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 17:51, 17 June 2011 (UTC)

Anything?--Hockeyben 18:06, 17 June 2011 (UTC)

Haven't replied yet. I'll leave a message here when they do. ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 18:08, 17 June 2011 (UTC)

Still nothing? --Hockeyben 01:36, 18 June 2011 (UTC)

It should have been an easy fix and there was some problems with the data centre so we had to wait for them. ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 07:40, 18 June 2011 (UTC)

Sorry, I don't understand. Have they replied yet? --Hockeyben 13:29, 18 June 2011 (UTC)

Yes, the datacentre is --Hockeyben 15:21, 19 June 2011 (UTC)having problems at the moment, it's not ShoutWiki's fault they're down. ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 13:29, 18 June 2011 (UTC)
[13:10]	<Jedimca0>	I'm waiting to hear back from the techs.
[13:10]	<Jedimca0>	last news was there some RAM issues, but those were fixed.
[13:10]	<Jedimca0>	the Datacenter also had some problems with their connection.
[13:10]	<Jedimca0>	but I was told that should be fixed soon.
[13:10]	<Jedimca0>	but what I'd like to know is if the datacenter is doing overtime during the weekend...
[13:11]	<Jedimca0>	but I like I said, waiting to hear from our techs... as they are in contact with the datacenter.

The Solar Dragon☆ 13:31, 18 June 2011 (UTC)

Have you heard anything further? Site's still down :( And congrats to you guys for reaching 8,000 articles! Only 2,000 away until 10k!--Hockeyben 17:40, 18 June 2011 (UTC)

Nothing since, been offline for a while. I just want to get over 9000 articles. Then we can go about shouting "It's over 9000!" :P ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 17:48, 18 June 2011 (UTC)

Have you heard anything further? Still down... --Hockeyben 15:21, 19 June 2011 (UTC)

When I hear anything, I'll tell you here. ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 15:22, 19 June 2011 (UTC)

I gotta admit, I'm getting pretty nervous. I'm surprised a blog post hasn't been written regarding this. At least this seems to be a connection problem, not the server malfunctioning like last time. --Hockeyben 15:34, 20 June 2011 (UTC)

It looks like their database server crashed. As long as there wasn't any corruption, I'd expect all of their wikis to be back online within a few days. :) --Jake 04:35, 21 June 2011 (UTC)
Hopefully, it should be back up today, if not tomorrow. They just need to check a few things first. ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 05:16, 21 June 2011 (UTC)

Thanks, that's good to hear. :) --Hockeyben 14:34, 21 June 2011 (UTC)

The site is still down. Have you heard anything further? --Hockeyben 13:45, 22 June 2011 (UTC)

As much as I hate agreeing with my evil, hacking doppelganger, but he (and, apparently because some can't see when a hacker has control, I) told you so. Also, Hockeyben, that user who is using the name "Escyos" on Autopedia on Wikkii is NOT me, I posted about the images on you talk page, but the rest is someone else. Escyos 03:15, 23 June 2011 (UTC)

@Escyos I know that the spammer wasn't "you", we've had a whole host of spam at Autopedia.

@Solar Dragon I was in contact with Jack Phoenix regarding shoutwiki, and the server is having connectivity issues, and MySQL daemon is not working. So, it does'nt look nearly as bad as last time. --Hockeyben 19:13, 23 June 2011 (UTC)

New news, they're moving to a new server as their datacenter has fucked them up so much. We are still not sure whether there has been any data loss like last time though... ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 19:19, 23 June 2011 (UTC)

Great that they're finally dumping their inadequate host. I hope that there is no data loss, and no wikis are un-recoverable (like autopedia and simpsons fanon). Is there an ETA on when this might happen? --Hockeyben 19:37, 23 June 2011 (UTC)

They've started now but no ETA right now I'm afraid. ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 19:38, 23 June 2011 (UTC)

Thanks a heap for keeping me informed. :) I wonder why Shoutwiki hasn't posted a blog regarding this... --Hockeyben 19:41, 23 June 2011 (UTC)

They want the blog to sound good and be informative, they're working on it in other words. ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 19:43, 23 June 2011 (UTC)

Patrolling disabled?

I was just wondering; did you guys intentionally disable those exclamation points that appear on the recent changes list for unpatrolled edits? Because if you'd like to disable patrolling, I can do that much more effectively through a server setting. Otherwise, it might be best to re-enable them so we can see which edits need to be reviewed for vandalism. --Jake 04:14, 18 June 2011 (UTC)

Urm... I didn't disable anything... ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 07:38, 18 June 2011 (UTC)
Oh... Ok then. Someone disabled those markers using CSS so I assumed it must be intentional. I'll enable them now. --Jake 13:15, 18 June 2011 (UTC)
If it was me, whoops, sorry. I didn't mean to disable anything. ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 13:17, 18 June 2011 (UTC)

8,000 articles

Congratulations, you write number 8000. /AleWi 10:12, 18 June 2011 (UTC)

YES! 8000 articles! ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 10:15, 18 June 2011 (UTC)

A New Proposal

First of all, I'm back! Secondly, is there a possibility of creating a thing similar to Wikipedia:Articles for Deletion but for everything and not just for deleting. Doh5678 (talk) 22:33, 18 June 2011 (UTC)

I'd give you a link to what I think you mean, buts its wikia so people will go "oh noez" -- cjc 22:35, 18 June 2011 (UTC)
Hi, good to see you back. We normally just bring up deletions on the talk page of the article so it isn't really needed. However, we could have a trial run. ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 22:36, 18 June 2011 (UTC)

Recent spammers

Seems to be a link between them, despite different IP's, they are doing similar things like creating a page and saying they agree with it or replacing content with "Touchdown! That's a rlaely cool way of putting it!". Cjcsdonut.png -- cjc 08:41, 23 June 2011 (UTC)

I think they're mocking. Trying to make you think that the articles are bad, probably someone from simpsons wikia. They're just jealous. Also has anyone else noticed slow times for the site, maybe its just me or maybe your host's scripting processes have been exceeded. Escyos 12:12, 23 June 2011 (UTC)
Yeah, I thought that there was a link between them. And Escyos, occasionally it is slow and occasionally it is fast. Not sure why. ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 17:38, 23 June 2011 (UTC)
The site will usually be a little slower after the server restarts because it needs to start caching the files. After a few hours, it usually is running at top speed again. I had to restart the server several times yesterday because I was running some upgrades, so I'm really sorry if it caused some slowdown for you guys. -Jake 20:29, 23 June 2011 (UTC)

Affiliation

So are our two sites going to become affiliated once again? Escyos 05:25, 24 June 2011 (UTC)
