Behind the Laughter

The Tampa Bay Rays are a baseball team that has been in the American League since their creation in 1998. They were originally called the Tampa Bay Devil Rays and were the laughing stock of the American League East. In all but one of first ten years, they had last place finishes. However, after a brighter and a name change to the Tampa Bay Rays, the Rays never finished below third place. They reached the World Series in their first year with the name change and since then, have been a success, even with a limited payroll.
