Everybody Really Hates Bart is a Bart Simpson story that appears in Bart Simpson #73.

Synopsis

Bart spills chemicals on himself during a science lecture, and everyone mysteriously takes an instant dislike to him.

Plot

Professor Frink has a lecture at school, and he lets Bart be his assistant. Frink asks Bart to hold two test tubes while he is talking with the students, Bart notices that the students are not interested in Frink and begins to juggle with the tubes but he drops them and gets the two liquids on himself. Professor Frink gets angry and he starts using his Frink Flamethrowing Flower on Bart, but he misses. Bart runs away to the Skinner's office. Bart asks Skinner to save him from Frink. Skinner is working with papers and so he has no time for Bart, but when he remembers that papers are much about Bart, he begins chasing Bart. Bart seeks refuge with Lisa, who starts yelling at him but when he refuses to listen to her sermon, it gets Nelson angry for since he did not want to listen to his ex-girlfriend so all students and teachers at the school start to chase him out of the school. In the schoolyard Willie met Bart, which he starts playing on his bagpipes. Bart goes to the police and tells them that all of the school were after him, but because he interrupted their break they start chasing him. Bart then runs to Moe's to seek refuge with Homer, and everyone in the tarven also seem to hate Bart.

Bart continues to be chased by the inhabitants in Springfield and when he visits Ned Flanders, the kindest person in Springfield starts shouting at Bart with his waterhose, Bart runs home to Marge and Maggie but they do not seem so be happy. Bart becomes sad, his own mother hates him. Marge tell him at she is angry because he stepped on her clean floors, but she does not hate him, a mother can never hate their child. Marge then sees that all residents of Springfield are outside the house and want to get hold of Bart. Bart tells her what happened and she realizes that the liquid allowed him to spread a fragrance that makes all of those around him hate him. Bart has decided that he must go out and meet the angry mob, but Marge will not let him do it because she does not want them to go on her clean carpet so she sends Bart to take a bath.
