Phil Hartman (September 24, 1948 - May 28, 1998) was a Canadian born American actor and comedian. He was a recurring guest star on The Simpsons, frequently voicing Lionel Hutz and Troy McClure. His characters were retired after his death in 1998.

Death
Hartman was murdered by his third wife Brynn on May 28, 1998 at the age of 49. He was deeply mourned by many people after his death.
