Perhaps one of the most gag-laden episodes of The Simpsons ever aired, 'The Last Temptation of Homer' revolves around a central plotline of a new female co-worker at Springfield Nuclear Powerplant, Mindy Simmons (voiced by Michelle Pfeiffer) and Homer Simpson. Mindy is hired at the plant after a raid at the plant uncovers the flaws in Monty Burn's hiring policies. Among the employees at the plant are a Zutroy, an obvious illegal immigrant, a Brazilian Soccer Team were forced to work at the plant after their aeroplane crash landed on Mr Burns' property; and Stuart, a duck. Mr Burns is forced to start changing his ways by hiring his first woman employee at the plant.

Unfortunately (but fortunately for the viewer) Homer discovers that he and Mindy have a great deal in common, including daytime naps at work and raspberry donuts with a double glaze. Homer's temptations combine with the secondary plots in which Marge comes down with the flu and Bart is tranformed into a nerd by several corrective measures from the doctor's surgery. This leads Homer to feel like his family is less desirable.
