Kumatsu Motors is a Japanese auto manufacturer.
History[edit]
When Powell Motors went out of business due to its investment in the unsaleable car that Homer designed, Kumatsu took over the company and its factory in Detroit, Michigan.[1]
The plow that Homer bought for his snowplowing business was designed and sold by Kumatsu. When Mr. Plow went out of business due to a sudden thaw, Kumatsu repossessed the plow.[2]
Behind the Laughter[edit]
Kumatsu Motors is a pun on Komatsu Limited, a Japanese company that manufactures construction and mining equipment.
