I'm Not in Springfield Anymore! is a Bart Simpson's Treehouse of Horror comic story that was first printed in Bart Simpson's Treehouse of Horror #7.
Synopsis[edit]
A parody of The Wizard of Oz, with the residents of Springfield cast as the various Oz inhabitants.
Plot[edit]
Lisa wakes up after being hit in the head by a baseball, and finds herself in an unfamiliar, colourful land. She asks for help getting home, and is told to follow the Yellow Brick Road and find the Wizard. She soon encounters a brainless scarecrow, a mischievous wind-up tin boy, and a woman obsessed with sweeping and cleaning. Lisa invites them to come and see the Wizard. Arriving at the Wizard's castle, they are greeted by Krusty the Clown, who leads them to the Wizard. The Wizard demands that before he grant their requests, they must kill the Wicked Burns of the West, but Burns is spying on them, and sends his flying Smithers after them.
Whilst walking through a forest, Lisa is kidnapped by Smithers who takes her to Burns' castle. Bart manages to distract and dispose of one castle guard, whilst a second guard is knocked out by Marge. The trio arrive to defeat Burns, who attacks Homer with a flaming candelabra. Grabbing a bucket of water, Lisa inadvertently splashes Burns, who then melts into a puddle after revealing the bucket is in fact full of corrosive nuclear runoff. Lisa and her friends are thanked by Smithers for freeing them from his spell.
The Wizard then reveals he cannot grant their wishes, as he is a powerless fraud. However, a scientist working nearby offers to help, replacing Marge's broom with a vacuum cleaner, installing the wind-up Bart with long-lasting batteries, and advising Homer to stop drinking, as alcohol kills brain cells. Lisa then asks to be sent home to her own family, only for the three "weirdos" to reveal they are her family, causing her to scream. She then wakes from her dream, only to pass out again upon seeing Bart's Tin Man Halloween costume. Comic Book Guy comments, "Worst dream sequence ever."
