The Mr. Plow Mysteries! is a Simpsons Winter Wingding story first printed in Simpsons Winter Wingding #10.
Synopsis[edit]
- "When the snow is too deep for the police to do their work, Chief Wiggum forces Homer to take his plow out of retirement to help him solve crimes."
Plot[edit]
Clancy Wiggum assigns Homer the mission to be Mr. Plow again after his police car is snowed in, and he needs him to drive around town. Homer hesitates at first, but the family convinces him. The first scene is the Kwik-E-Mart, where mobs have stolen one of Apu's syrup containers and are selling bootleg Squishees made of snow outside his store. They tell Clancy and Homer he gave them the machine. They decide to play good cop/bad cop to get the bullies to confess, but they fail. Apu has proof it is his—the syrup expired a long time ago, and those who drink it begin to hallucinate.
The next crime is at Burns Manor, where the dogs have been stolen after Waylon Smithers failed to train them for the annual dog sled race in Alaska. Both Clancy and Burns believe Smithers is guilty, but Homer smells something and follows it to a tool shed, where the dogs are exhausted after eating a lot of bacon. The footprints leading to the tool shed are not Smithers' shoe size, so he becomes free.
The next crime is at the Springfield Retirement Castle, where Jasper is dead and has been stabbed with a popsicle after a fight with Abe. Clancy and Homer freeze at the retirement home. Grampa has hot cocoa and both try to drink it, but they pour it on Jasper instead, which wakes him up because he was only frozen.
Clancy and Homer drive to Moe's, where Barney snitches on Moe for serving endangered penguin parts as hot wings. Homer believes Moe did not make it, and that it was Barney who gave the bullies the Squishee syrup and turned down the heat at the retirement home. Barney did it so he could be the Plow King again and make Homer look bad. Barney confesses, and Homer says he also tweeted about everything. Moe invites them to take some Squishee syrup which Otto sold him, and they begin to hallucinate. Barney apologizes and Homer accepts it, if he can eat a piece of his arm.
