Object Information
|
Slosh 'N' Splash is an outdoor water toy.
Description[edit]
The Slosh 'N' Splash consists of a long narrow plastic sheet that has sprinklers spraying water onto it, making the sheet function as a flat water slide. People using it take a running start, jump onto the sheet and slide along it.
History[edit]
Homer set up the slide in the yard at the Simpson home, on the side of the house that faced the Flanders home, raising one end of the slide to make a ramp and placing a kiddie pool underneath in order to take a sliding jump and land in the pool. Homer and Bart and Lisa played on the slide while Ned Flanders was hosting and leading a Bible study group. When Homer lost his bathing suit, he slid on the slide naked in full view of the group, which greatly annoyed Ned as it distracted people from the Bible study. Ned went outside to give Homer a fig leaf to put on. By then Homer had put on a pair of underpants, but he continued to annoy Ned when he splashed into the kiddie pool and soaked Ned from head to toe.
The incident prompted Ned to grumble that Homer was beyond redemption, but Rev. Lovejoy encouraged him to instead consider Homer as a challenge.[1]
