David is an Italian Renaissance sculpture in Florence, Italy of the biblical hero David created by Michelangelo.

History[edit]

Michelangelo's David goes on a coast-to-coast tour of the United States with New York and Springfield on the itinerary and "if we have time" Chicago, Boston and Los Angeles. In Springfield, the members of S.N.U.H. urge Marge to protest the sculpture, insisting it is an abomination, fiflth and evil. Marge however believes the sculpture to be a masterpiece and she likes the statue. Marge urges everyone in Springfield to see it during her appearance on Smartline when Dr. Marvin Monroe questions how can she be for one form of freedom of expression like the fully nude sculpture and against another like Itchy & Scratchy forcing Marge to admit she cannot despite still hating those cartoons. Later on Homer and Marge go to see David at the Springfield Palace of Fine Arts where Marge sighs on how their kids had a chance to see a great work of art and instead they are at home watching violent cartoons. Homer tells her pretty soon every boy and girl at Springfield Elementary School is going to come see it because the school will be forcing the which cheers Marge up.[1]

David was seen on TV when Homer was skipping through channels looking for things to buy for Marge.[2]
