The Pulitzer Prize is a award for achievements in journalism, literature and musical composition.

History

When Jay Sherman had dinner at the Simpson home, he bragged about having won two Pulitzer Prizes and took off his sweater to reveal them on lanyards around his neck. Shortly after that, he gave vent to an enormous belch and said that the only Pulitzer Prize winners who could do that were himself and Eudora Welty.[1]

Homer won the Pulitzer Prize after he revealed that he was Mr. X.[2]

Marshall Goldman tried to win the Pulitzer Prize, planning to kill Abraham Simpson and then write a story about him. Homer discovered the plan and the Simpson family managed to prevent Goldman from killing Abe.[3]

Behind the Laughter

Eudora Welty (1909-2001) won a Pulitzer Prize in real life in 1973.
