"Lisa on Ice" is the eighth episode of Season 6, which aired on November 13, 1994. The episode was written by Mike Scully and directed by Bob Anderson. The episode features references to films such as Rollerball and The Pope of Greenwich Village.

Lisa is failing gym. To make up the grade, she joins a pee-wee hockey league. Soon, her team must face off against Bart's, putting them in direct competition.

Plot

The school starts giving out "Academic Alerts" to tell the kids what they're failing at. Lisa is told that she's failing gym. In disgust, she goes to the gym teacher, who tells her that she won't fail if she joins one of the "Pee-wee" teams in town. She is bad at everything she tries. At Bart's hockey game, he starts hitting things at her and she defends them like a top-notch goalie, so Apu brings her onto his team. When she starts winning games, she gets more respect than Bart and they start a rivalry. Their rivalry is taken to a new level when Bart's team is going to play Lisa's team. With the game tied at the end and the result coming down to a penalty shot by Bart, they both experience harmonious flashbacks, causing them to remember their love for each other. They throw down their equipment and hug as the hockey arena erupts into rioting.
