"The Last Temptation of Homer" is the ninth episode of season 5 of The Simpsons and the ninetieth episode overall. It originally aired on December 9, 1993. The episode was written by Frank Mula and directed by Carlos Baeza. It guest stars Michelle Pfeiffer as Mindy Simmons and Werner Klemperer as Colonel Klink.

Synopsis
- "A female employee, Mindy Simmons, is hired at the nuclear plant. Homer finds her attractive and learns that they have many interests in common. When Homer learns that the attraction is mutual, he is tempted to have an affair with Mindy. In the meantime, Bart makes friends with the school nerds when a series of medical treatments (glasses, scalp salve, special shoes and voice-changing throat spray) transform him into one."
Plot
Bart plays a prank on the teachers by making all the parking space lines too close to each car and therefore not leaving enough space for the teachers to get out of their cars. Afterwards, Mrs. Krabappel blames Bart for what happened and Bart is forced to answer every question for the rest of the year as punishment. Mrs. Krabappel then tells Bart to read the word 'photosynthesis' on the chalkboard and Bart cannot do it.
Meanwhile, Homer, Lenny, Carl, and Charlie use a claw to grab a worker's bottom; however, the worker is working on something important and a nuclear meltdown occurs when he is grabbed. The nuclear meltdown becomes a potentially fatal disaster when they discover that the emergency exit is actually painted on a wall. After they narrowly escape, Charlie asks Mr. Burns to install a real emergency exit.
