• The episode title is a reference to A Midsummer Night's Dream.
• When Homer wakes up from a dream, he yells "don't sue me, Dracula!"
• An arrangement of "Beautiful Boy (Darling Boy)" by John Lennon plays over the scene where Marge takes Bart to school.
• Otter Homer says that Lisa's as smart as "Old Sheldon", a reference to Sheldon Cooper from The Big Bang Theory and the spin-off Young Sheldon.
• The bright orange flowers behind Otter Homer in the garden are California poppies.
