Plot[edit]
Kent Brockman has just finished taping Channel 6 All-Stars Halloween Super Variety Showcase. But when he exits the studio to go home (in lieu of hosting the news), Snake runs past him with a bag. The security guard asks Brockman to stop him but he refuses, as that is not his job. So Snake gets away with the money (in gold ingots) made from the special (And Brockman's clothes)! Kent leaves the TV building in a Superman costume he wore on the special. But when he comes out to the parking lot, Snake steals his car and wallet. Kent call to the police but then sees they're unhelpful.
The next day, Lisa rides her bike past Kent on her paper round and he tells her why he is wearing a Superman costume and sitting on the sidewalk outside the studio's parking lot. Kent is depressed, he thinks he is a joke, but Lisa cheers him up. Kent finds Snake's library card and he decides to visit the library. The librarian tells Kent that he will not find anything here but when he starts to flip through the book Goldfinger, he discovers that they placed his gold bars in the book. The librarian is angry and asks how he was able to detect their operation and he says that he looked into the Junior Assistant Librarian Program and found Fat Tony and the D'Amico Crime Family. Fat Tony tells Kent that a group of six-time felons can do some light reading amongst friends and Fat Tony tells his friends that Kent must sleep with the fishes. Fat Tony is then beaten by a newspaper that Lisa and the other female newspaper delivers (and Milhouse) have come to help Kent. Kent then sees Snake, who is going to pick up a weapon that is hidden in the book The Guns of Navarrone but then it turns out to be just a book with no weapon inside. Kent then successfully beats him down. In the next broadcasting of the news Kent tells everyone about what he did at he wants to thank a special young lady for helping him. Lisa thinks that it's her, but it turns out to be Mandy and he offers her dinner, which she accepts. Lisa then angrily exits the studio while Kent reads more news.
