The Secret Life of Bart Simpson is a Bart Simpson story first printed in Bart Simpson #30.
Synopsis[edit]
- Bart is daydreaming so much that he does not notice what is happening in the real world.
Plot[edit]
McBart is trying to take an experimental nano-plane to Lord Deathbottom's Rats' Nest to stop him from triggering a girl-germ bomb. However, his superior, Jimbo Jones, orders him not to since he's not a test pilot and flying the plane could be a death sentence. McBart punches Jimbo and takes the plane anyway. As he flies toward the castle, Otto tells the kids that they have arrived at school, revealing that Bart was just daydreaming. Lisa points out that Bart has been daydreaming for days and not facing reality, but Bart just responds with a Lord of the Rings quote.
Radioactive Bart is held captive above a bubbling cauldron by Robokrab, who demands to know where Radioactive Bart hid the children because she needs to replace their brains. Radioactive Bart refuses to answer his enemy, saying "Never, Robokrab!" In the real world, Edna Krabappel asks Bart what 2 x 4 is, and Bart responds with "Never, you monster!" He gets sent to Principal Skinner's office. As he walks there, he daydreams about Itchy and Scratchy.
When he gets to Skinner's office, Bart is now Superintendent Simpson and tells Skinner that he wants to fire someone, demanding that Skinner come up with fifty reasons why it should not be him within sixty seconds. Suddenly, Bart is a child again and the school is on fire. Outside the school, he sees Skinner talking to a fireman, who writes off Bart for dead. The fireman gives out ice cream and kittens to the kids who survived the fire. Skinner snaps Bart out of this daydream and tells him that he warned him about using his imagination. Bart walks out saying that he will never daydream again.
