The Gluten, the Bread and the Hungry! is a Bart Simpson story first printed in Bart Simpson #88.
Synopsis[edit]
- "Pieman and the Cupcake Kid take on a new crime team, Glutenus Maximus and his sidekick Gluten Tag, whose pastry-related misdeeds have led to a ban on all baked goods in Springfield. How will the heroic duo battle their foes without their arsenal of pies and cupcakes, and what's worse, what will Homer do without his daily dose of donuts?"
Plot[edit]
The Leftorium is robbed by two masked villains, Glutenus Maximus and his sidekick, Gluten Tag. They use pastries as weapons. On the news, reports tell Clancy Wiggum that they have banned all bakery goods until they give up or manage to catch them. Bart is upset about what he hears about the bakery, Homer wonder why so his explanation is that they can not be Pieman and Cupcake Kid anymore. Homer asks if they are still being them and Bart says that fighting crime is the best part of his week. After Homer hears that there will be no more donuts in Springfield until the crime has ended and they decides to make a visit to the police station. Cupcake Kid and Pieman bring with them lots of pies and cup cakes to get donuts instead but it ends with the police confiscation it and have no donuts.
The next night it's the annnual celebrity hot tub mayoral fundraiser. They get a visit from the bakery crime team that pours in quick-cooking bread mix into the tubs and steal their money. Marge asks Bart and Homer why they do not come up with new super hero character unless if they can be their old character anymore. This makes Bart and Homer decides to become Captain Quiche and Meatball Boy and they start fighting with the criminals but becomes trapped in the month-old donut cuffs but Homer eats them and gets free and defeats the criminal. The unmask them and they turn out to be Üter and his dad. They tell why they hade to become criminals, they had to close their German breakfast restaurant and had no money anymore. Homer gets an idea and Üter's family opens a pork restaurant that becomes popular among Springfield's residents (except Lisa).
