Plot[edit]

Krusty asks the children to buy Larry Snotter and the School for Monsters on his TV show. This leads to Bart wanting the book, which surprises Lisa, who tells Homer he should buy it for Bart as Bart never likes book, and she also wants the book. Bart gets hold of the last copy of the book but can not be bothered to read it so he gives it Lisa. Bart goes to the playground where he discovers that all the kids are reading the book and no one has time to play with him, so he decides to get them to stop reading. He fails with his proposals but meets Ned, who lets Bart play with his kids, but Bart has no fun, so he goes home and watches Krusty, who only babbles about the book.

After the broadcast, Krusty is furious - the audience was reading the book during the whole show and when he leaves the studio, he meets Bart. When Bart realizes that Krusty also hates the book, he asks him to help get the book banned by participating in Smartline. At Smartline, Ned tells about why the book should be banned and Krusty admits to be "defeated" and arranges a burning of the books in Springfield. Lisa tries to stop the ban, but fails. Later, Milhouse asks Lisa if Bart can came out and play with him, but he has not got the time as he is only interested in the book since they banned it.
